ROLLA, Mo. – The Webster University men's and women's track and field team kicked off their outdoor season this afternoon when they traveled to Rolla, Missouri, to compete in the Miner Invitational at Missouri S&T. The women's team finished 10^th with 10 points while the men's team took ninth with 20 points. Lewis (Ill.) University won on the women's side after finishing with 214 points while Missouri S&T won on the men's side with 261.5 points.

Danielle Schultz led the way for the women's team as she finished with a team high eight points. She took fourth place out of 15 runners in the 1500-meter finals with a time of 5:04.20 and sixth place out of 22 runners in the 800-meter finals with a time of 2:25.78. Vanessa Jones finished off the scoring for the Gorloks as she took seventh place out of 22 runners in the 100-meter finals with a time of 17.18 seconds. The full women's results are as follows:

The men's team was led by Elijah Perez who finished with a team high 14 points. He took second place out of 25 runners in the 200-meter finals after finishing with a time of 22.15 seconds. He followed that up with a third place finish in the 100-meter finals out of 20 runners with a time of 10.97 seconds. Armond Williams picked up the final six points for the Gorloks as he took third place out of six competitors in the high jump finals with a height of 1.90 meters. The Gorloks are back on the track on Friday, April 1^st and Saturday, April 2^nd when they travel down Big Bend to compete in the WashU Invitational. The meet is set to start on Friday at 4 p.m.
