2022 Hall of Fame Class Announced

St. LOUIS, Mo. – The Webster University Athletic Department has announced the 2022 Hall of Fame class. There will be six inductees into this year's class including Cody Stevenson (baseball), Austin Loeffler (men's soccer, men's golf, men's tennis), Ricky Eaves (men's tennis), Maggie Zehner-Jones (women's basketball), Jessica Spink (women's soccer), and Kelsey Washam Coit (softball).

"I want to thank the Hall of Fame Committee for all of their hard work resulting in the selection of another outstanding group of individuals to be inducted into the Webster University Gorlok Hall of Fame, class of 2022." Said Webster University Director of Athletics, Scott Kilgallon. "We look forward to honoring this group and hearing their stories from their time as student-athletes to present day."

Cody Stevenson was a four-year letter winner on the baseball team from 2010 to 2013. He helped lead his team to four straight SLIAC Regular Season and Tournament Titles while also making two runs to the NCAA Division III Baseball World Series. He was named First Team All-SLIAC in all four of his seasons and was named the SLIAC Newcomer of the Year in 2010. He earned Second Team ABCA/Rawlings All-Central Region honors in 2012 and was named to the SLIAC 2010's Baseball All-Decade Team. He currently ranks at the top of the Webster baseball record books in runs scored (206), triples (13), walks (100), and stolen bases (165) while ranking second in stolen base percentage (.897), second in at-bats (636), third in games played (180), and third in games started (175). In addition, he ranked sixth in hits (198), sixth in total bases (289), and is tied for 10th in doubles (35). He holds the single game Webster record for steals as he stole five bases against Eureka (Ill.) College in 2013. He also holds the top single season mark for triples (7 in 2012) and stolen bases (59 in 2012). He stole 47 bases in the 2011 season and was named the NCAA Division III National Statistical Champion. His 165 career stolen bases ranks fifth all-time in NCAA Division III baseball history. Stevenson, a Salem, Illinois, native is currently a police officer in Naples, Florida. This was his first year on the Hall of Fame ballot.

Austin Loeffler was a three-sport athlete at Webster as he lettered in men's soccer from 2000 to 2004, men's tennis from 2001 to 2004, and men's golf from 2003 to 2005. In soccer, Loeffler was a four-time All-SLIAC recipient including First Team All-SLIAC honors in 2002 and 2003 while being named NSCAA All-Region in 2003. He was a four-year team captain including his freshman season when helped lead the team to a SLIAC Championship and a second consecutive trip to the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer National Championships. He helped lead the Gorloks to a 35-30-10 overall record in his four season and a 32-17-7 mark in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. He appeared in 71 career matches scoring 18 goals, including three game winners, and had 11 assists for 47 career points. He tallied 162 career shots which is tied for second most in program history while his 47 points and 18 goals are tied for 15th all-time. In golf, Loeffler recorded a scoring average of 86.1 through 15 rounds. He finished in 13th place in the 2005 SLIAC Championships after carding a 248 and helped lift the team to their second ever SLIAC Championship Title. In tennis, Loeffler won 12 career singles matches and four career doubles matches while posting records of 12-18 in singles and 4-23 in doubles. He led the team in singles wins from 2001-2003 while competing in #1 singles, #3 singles, #4 singles, and #5 singles. For his efforts in a Gorlok uniform, Loeffler was named the Webster Athletics Male Athlete of the Year in both 2002 and 2003. Loeffler graduated from Webster with a B.S. degree in Accounting in 2004 and is currently the Chief Financial Officer at Delmar Mortgage in St. Louis. This was his third year on the ballot.

Ricky Eaves was a four-year letter winner on the men's tennis team from 2010 to 2013. He was a six-time All-SLIAC selection including four straight in singles from 2010 to 2013 and two straight doubles selections in 2011 and 2012. He was named First Team All-SLIAC on three different occasions including in singles in 2012 and 2013 and doubles in 2012. His 43 singles wins ranks second all-time on the Webster men's tennis singles wins list, while his 35 doubles wins is the most in program history. He also holds the single season mark for wins as he finished with 18 as a senior in 2013. He posted a 43-11 record in singles throughout his career including 20 wins in the #3 singles spot. He finished his career with a .796 winning percentage in singles and a .700 winning percentage in doubles which rank fourth and third on the Gorloks all-time list, respectively. Eaves went 23-9 throughout his career at #2 doubles including 13 wins in the 2012 season which is tied for the second most in a single season. In SLIAC play, Eaves went 15-1 in singles and 11-2 in doubles. He helped lead the team to a 58-17 overall record throughout his career including a school record 19 wins in the 2013 season. The Gorloks finished as the runners-up in the conference tournament three of the four years Eaves was a part of the program. For his efforts, he was named to the 2010's Webster Athletics Men's Tennis All-Decade Team and was named the 2010's Men's Tennis Co-Player of the Decade. Eaves is currently employed by the St. Louis City Police Department. This was his first year on the ballot.

Maggie Zehner-Jones was a four-year letter winner on the women's basketball team from 2009 to 2013. She is one of just two players in Gorlok history to be named All-SLIAC in all four of her years, including First Team All-SLIAC her senior year. She was named the SLIAC Newcomer of the Year following her freshman season and was a three-time SLIAC All-Defensive Team selection. In addition, she was named Earlaustinjr.com Second Team All-Area following her senior season and was a three-time member of the SLIAC Winter Sports All-Academic Team. In 103 career games, she tallied 1,121 career points, 390 career rebounds, 284 career assists, and 190 career steals. Her 1,121 career points ranks fifth in program history while her 284 career assists ranks sixth, and her 190 career steals ranks 10th. She is one of just eight players in program history to score 1,000 career points and one of six players to dish out 280 or more assists. She played a school record 953 total minutes her senior season and is tied for the third most three-point field goals made in a single year (52). She scored 410 points as a senior which is the eighth most in a single season in program history. She helped lead the team to a 61-46 overall record and 43-21 mark in SLIAC play while in a Webster uniform. In the 2010-11 season, she lifted the Gorloks to their second ever SLIAC Tournament Championship and a third ever trip to the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball National Tournament. She graduated from Webster in 2013 and currently serves as a teacher at Lindbergh High School. This was her first year on the ballot.

Jessica Spink was a four-year letter winner for the women's soccer program from 2002 to 2005. She was a three-time First Team All-SLIAC selection and a two-time selection to the SLIAC All-Tournament Team. She helped lead the Gorloks to three SLIAC Regular Season titles in four seasons while lifting the team to a SLIAC Tournament Championship in 2005. She was a part of three NCAA Division III Women's Soccer National Tournament teams including the 2003 team that made a run to the second round. Spink appeared in 77 matches throughout her career and made 64 starts. She appeared and started in 22 matches in 2004 which is tied for the most in a single season. She finished her career as the all-time leading scorer for defenders with 18 career goals and 12 career assists for 48 total points. Additionally, she recorded 87 shots throughout her career while tallying four game winning goals. She finished with eight goals as a senior while recording 21 total points from the sweeper position. She played 3,564 career minutes and anchored a back line that allowed just 62 goals while recording 37 shutouts in four seasons. This includes 26 combined shutouts in 2002 and 2005. She helped lead the Gorloks to a 61-19-2 overall record in her four seasons and a 45-3 mark in SLIAC play. She helped lift the team to three undefeated SLIAC seasons in 2002, 2003, and 2005 while being named to the NSCAA Academic All-Region team in 2004 and 2005. For her efforts on the field, she was named the Webster University Female Athlete of the Year in 2006. Spink graduated from Webster in just three years with a degree in mathematics and minor in computer science. She currently works at AT&T. This was her third year on the ballot.

Kelsey Washam Coit was a three-time letter winner for the Gorloks softball team from 2007 to 2009. She helped lead the softball team to three straight SLIAC Regular Season Titles while being named First Team All-SLIAC in all three seasons. She was a member of the SLIAC Tournament Championship teams in 2007 and 2009 while leading her team to a runner-up finish in 2009 NCAA Division III Regional Tournament. She racked up 30 career homeruns and 127 career RBI's which are both program records. She also ranks 16th in school history in batting average (.316) while ranking 18th in games played (124). In 2008, she set a school record for most homeruns (15) and most RBI's (53) in a single season. She played shortstop for the Gorloks and finished her career fourth all-time for career assists (214) and 12th in career double plays turned (6). Washam Coit graduated from Webster in 2009 and currently works for Dell Technologies at Boeing in the IT field while also serving as a Commander for a Military Police Company in the Missouri Army National Guard. This was her sixth year on the ballot.

The Webster University Gorlok Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place on Sunday, September 25th.
