Gorloks Win Fourth Straight

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Webster University men's soccer team was back in action this evening when they traveled to Eureka, Illinois, to take on the Eureka (Ill.) College Red Devils for a SLIAC matchup. The Gorloks, who have not lost against a SLIAC opponent in 31 matches, defeated the Red Devils by a final score of 6-0 to improve to 6-1-2 overall and 4-0-1 in conference play. With the loss, Eureka falls to 4-5 on the year and 2-3 in conference play.

The Gorloks outshot the Red Devils by a final count of 36-1 and put 15 shots on target. They also led in the corner count as they finished with five while Eureka posted one.

Webster got on the board first in this one as Isaac Pearson was able to finish off his second of the season in the 32nd minute of the game. He received a ball over the top of the defense from Mark Moore and was able to slide the ball past the Eureka keeper and into the back of the net to give Webster a 1-0 lead at the break.

Mark Moore added to the Gorloks lead in the 61st minute of the game when he scored his first of the season to give Webster a 2-0 advantage. Aamahn Murvin scored the next two goals for Webster as he finished off a pass from Mark Moore in the 69th minute and then finished off a pass from Isaac Pearson in the 71st minute for his sixth and seventh tallies of the season.

Marco Donjuan scored the fifth goal for Webster as he finished off a pass from Danny Nusinovic in the 88th minute for his second of the year. Nusinovic scored the final goal for Webster in the 89th minute off of a rebound for his first career tally.

Ty Baudendistel and Luke Dillon split time in goal for Webster as they did not record a save in the teams seventh shutout of the season.

The Gorloks will return to the pitch on Saturday, October 1st when they host the Principia (Ill.) College Panthers for a SLIAC matchup. The game is set to kick-off at 3:30 p.m.
