ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Webster University men's soccer team was back in action this afternoon when they played host to the Blackburn (Ill.) College Beavers for a SLIAC matchup. The Gorloks defeated the Beavers by a final score of 6-0 to improve to 5-7-3 on the season and 3-1-2 in conference play. With the loss, the Beavers drop to 1-10-2 overall and 0-5 in conference play.
The Gorloks outshot the Beavers 31-8 in the contest and put 13 shots on target compared to one from Blackburn. Webster also led in the corner count as they had nine while Blackburn did not have any.
Webster came out in the first half of the game and took it to the Beavers early. They were able to get on the board in the 30
th minute as
Talha Dizdarevic finished off his eighth of the season to give Webster a 1-0 lead. They tried to add to their lead before the half but were unable to capitalize as the score remained 1-0 at the break.
In the second half, the Gorloks were firing on all cylinders as they have five goals in the frame.
Jack Thompson got the scoring going for the Gorloks as he scored his first of the season in the 54
th minute to extend Websters lead to 2-0.
Talha Dizdarevic pushed the lead to three in the 57
th minute as he scored his ninth of the season, and second of the game.

Kyle Parrella finished off the scoring for Webster as Debourg scored his first of the year in the 87
th minute, Mujezinovic scored his third of the year in the 88
th minute, and Parella scored his first of the year in the 89
th minute.

Andy Mujezinovic, and Alex Debourge recorded assists in the half.
Luke Dillon (5-7-3) and
Jacob Klevorn split time in goal for Webster as they combined to record one save in the teams fifth shutout of the season.
The Gorloks are back in action on Saturday, October 21
st when they travel to Greenville, Illinois, to take on the Greenville (Ill.) University Panthers for a SLIAC matchup. The game is set to start at 1 p.m.
