HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Webster University women's tennis team was back in action this morning when they took on the Ramapo (N.J.) College Roadrunners for their second match of their spring break trip. The Gorloks picked up their second straight sweep as they defeated the Roadrunners by a final score of 9-0 to improve to 8-4 on the season. With the loss, Ramapo drops to 3-3 on the year.

Webster got off to a great start in doubles as they won all three matches to take a 3-0 lead. Erin Brezovar and Bailey Higgins won #1 doubles as they defeated Melanie Brentnall and Mackenzie Dates by a final score of 8-4. Emma Ferguson and Kylie Chitwood won #2 doubles as they defeated Nicole Graham and Kassie Britt by a final score of 8-3. Lastly, Maddie Mena and Bailee Pineda won #3 doubles as they defeated Justine Gardella and Tahlia Crescenzo by a final score of 8-6.

The Gorloks went on to sweep the singles portion of the match to solidify their eighth win of the season. Erin Brezovar won #1 singles as she defeated Melanie Brentnall by final scores of 6-3 and 6-4. Emma Ferguson defeated Mackenzie Dates in #2 singles by final scores of 6-3 and 6-3. Bailey Higgins won #3 singles over Nicole Graham by final scores of 6-1 and 6-2. Kylie Chitwood defeated Kassie Britt in #4 singles by final scores of 7-5 and 6-2. Maddie Mena won #5 singles over Justine Gardella by final scores of 6-2 and 6-0. Bailee Pineda completed the sweep as she won #6 singles over Tahlia Crescenzo by final scores of 6-3 and 6-4.

The Gorloks will return to the court on Thursday, March 16^th when they take on the Randolph (Va.) College Wildcats. The match is set to start at 1:30 p.m. EST at Hilton Head Resort in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
