TUCSON, Ariz. – The Webster University softball team was back in action this morning as they took on the Dickinson (Pa.) College Red Devils for their final game of the Tucson Invitational. The Gorloks defeated the Red Devils by a final score of 4-3 to improve to 2-13 on the season. With the loss, Dickinson falls to 5-6 on the year.

The Gorloks put together nine hits in the contest. They got on the board in the top of the first as they scored two runs in the inning to take an early lead. They added two more runs in the top of the second after RBI hits from Emma Bovaconti and Paige Thomas, but a run from the Red Devils in the bottom half of the inning would cut the lead to 4-1 heading into the third. Dickinson added a run in the bottom of the fourth and a run in the bottom of the fifth, but Webster was able to record the final outs of the game to solidify the win.

Ainsley Hinz (2-2) pitched a great game for Webster as she allowed just six hits and two earned runs while striking out four in her first complete game of the season.

Jaelin Holdaway led the way at the plate as she went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Kaley Adzick also recorded two hits in the game while Emma Bovaconti and Paige Thomas each added an RBI.

The Gorloks will return to the field on Wednesday, April 5^th when they host the Blackburn (Ill.) College Beavers for their home opener. They will play a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m. at St. Joseph's Academy.
