ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Webster University women's volleyball team was back in action this morning when they played their final game of the 2023 WashU Invite. The Gorloks were defeated by St. Olaf (Minn.) College in three sets (19-25, 23-25, 11-25) to fall to 0-3 on the year. With the win, St. Olaf improves to 2-1 on the year.
Webster was held to 23 kills on 92 attacks for a .120 attacking percentage. They added three service aces, three blocks, 20 assists, and 36 digs. St. Olaf finished the match with 47 kills on 111 attacks for a .279 attacking percentage.
After dropping the first set by a final score of 25-19, the Gorloks bounced back in the second and jumped out to an early 8-5 lead. St. Olaf answered back and went on a 7-0 run to take a 12-8 advantage in the set. Webster would claw their way back into the game and tie the score at 19, but St. Olaf would outscore the Gorloks 6-4 down the stretch to solidify the win.
St. Olaf carried their momentum into the third game and jumped out to a 11-7 lead. They continued to play well as the set progressed and went on a 9-0 run to put themselves up 13 late in the game. They would pick up the final points of the set and solidify the sweep.

Megan Zablonski led the attack for Webster as they each finished with a team high five kills.
Ellie Biedenstein also had a nice game as she finished with a team high nine assists to go with 10 digs. In addition,
Cassie Gray recorded 10 digs while
Delaney Demman added eight assists.
The Gorloks will wrap up play in the Washington University Invitational tomorrow, September 2
nd when they take on St. Olaf (Minn.) College. First serve is set for 10:30 a.m. on the campus of Washington (Mo.) University.
