Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Gorloks Score Five in Win

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Webster University men's soccer team was back in action this afternoon when they played host the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy (Mo.) Eutectics for a nonconference matchup. The Gorloks defeated the Eutectics by a final score of 5-0 to improve to 2-1 on the season. With the loss, UHSP falls to 0-2-1 on the year.

The Gorloks outshot the Eutectics 22-11 in the match and had 12 shots on target compared to four from UHSP. Webster also led in the corner count as they had 10 while the Eutectics had five.

The Gorloks came out in the first half of the game and controlled the tempo early. They were able to get on the board in the 15th minute of action when Dalton Sperle played the ball over the top to Talha Dizdarevic. Dizdarevic dribbled around the keeper and slotted it into the back of the net for his fourth tally of the season.

Webster was back at it again in the in the 28th minute of action when Noah Abraham scored his first of the season to give the Gorloks a 2-0 lead. Jack Thompson had the assist for Webster as he played the ball across the mouth of the goal before finding Abraham who tapped it into the back of the net to give Webster the 2-0 advantage at the break.

The Gorloks would come out of the locker room and continue to control the tempo in the second half. Talha Dizdarevic added to the Webster lead with 25 minutes left to play in the game as he stole the ball from a Eutectic defender before slotting it past the keeper for his second of the game. Patrick Fuller and Luke Walsh put the game away in the final minutes as they each scored their first goals of the season to solidify the Gorloks second win of the year. Ajdin Muratovic and Guillermo Soto had the assists for Webster.

Luke Dillon (2-1) was the starting keeper in this one as he made two saves in the first half of the match. Ty Baudendistel completed the shutout as he recorded two saves in the second half. The combined shutout was Webster's first of the season.

The Gorloks will return to the pitch on Friday, September 8th when they host the Rhodes (Tenn.) College Lynx for a nonconference matchup. The game is set to kick off at 7 p.m. at World Wide Technology Soccer Park.
