ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Webster University men's soccer team was back in action this evening when they played host to the Rhodes (Tenn.) College Lynx for a nonconference matchup. The Gorloks were defeated by the Lynx by a final score of 1-0 to move to 2-2 on the season. With the win, Rhodes improves to 3-0 on the year.

The Gorloks were outshot 14-10 in the contest and put two shots on target compared to six from the Lynx. Rhodes also led in the corner count as they had five corners while the Gorloks had two.

The Gorloks came out in the first half and had a tough time controlling the possession early. The Lynx took advantage and were able to score in the fifth minute of the game to take a 1-0 lead. Webster would record three shots in the half but were unable to put a shot on frame as the Lynx took a 1-0 lead into the locker room.

Webster picked it up to start the second half and were able to create several scoring chances throughout the period. They played tough defensively and were able to keep Rhodes out of the back of the net for the entirety of the half. However, they were unable to take advantage of their scoring chances and the score remained 1-0 at the end of regulation.

Luke Dillon (2-2) was in goal for Webster as he recorded five saves in the contest.

The Gorloks will hit the road for the first time this season on Sunday, September 10^th when they travel to Grinnell, Iowa, to take on Grinnell (Iowa) University for a nonconference matchup. The game is set to start at 1:30 p.m.
