TUCSON, Ariz. – The Webster University softball team was back in action this morning when they took on St. Catherine (Minn.) University and Salve Regina (R.I.) University in Tucson, Ariz. The Gorloks swept the doubleheader as they defeated St. Catherine by a final score of 4-0 and Salve Regina by a final score of 11-4 to improve to 8-5-1 on the season.
The Gorloks got on the board early in their first game as 
Jaelin Holdaway hit an RBI single in the bottom of the second to jump out to a 1-0 lead. Webster would go on to add three more runs in the top of the fifth and never let the Wildcats get anything going as they kept them off the board throughout the game to solidify the win.
Braidyn Burr (2-2) was the starting pitcher for Webster as she allowed just three hits while striking out three in her first complete game shutout of the season.
Webster finished with 10 hits in the game. 
Katie Croxall led the way as she went 4-for-4 with a run scored. 
Sidney Holtz also had a multi-hit game as she went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. In addition, 
Jaelin Holdaway went 1-for-3 with two RBI while 
Alyssa Lyell went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.
The Gorloks carried their momentum over into the second game as they scored seven runs in the first two innings to take an early lead. Salve Regina would answer with a run in the fourth and three runs in the sixth, but a four-run rally from Webster in the top of the seventh solidified the Gorloks second win of the day.
Cheyenne Dickens (4-0) was the starting pitcher in this one as she allowed eight hits and four earned runs while striking out five in her second complete game of the season.
Webster tallied 12 hits in the win. 
Madi Stichling and 
Katie Croxall led the way for Webster as Stichling went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored while Croxall went 3-for-5 with three runs scored and an RBI. In addition, 
Kaelyn Kearney went 2-for-3 with an RBI, 
Jaelin Holdaway went 1-for-2 with an RBI, 
Ainsley Hinz went 1-for-2 with two RBI, and 
Paige Thomas added two RBI to round out the top performers for Webster.
The Gorloks will return to the field tomorrow, March 11
th when they continue play in Tucson, Arizona. They will take on Central (Iowa) College at 9 a.m. MST and the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse at 11 a.m. MST.
