Gorloks Split With Blue Jays

FULTON, Mo. – The Webster University baseball team was back in action on Saturday when they traveled to Fulton, Missouri, to take on the Westminster (Mo.) College Blue Jays for a SLIAC doubleheader. The Gorloks split the doubleheader as they fell in the first game by a final score of 9-7 before winning the second game by a final score of 23-19 to move to 14-13 on the season and 7-5 in conference play. With the split, Westminster moves to 12-17 on the year.

The Gorloks got off to a slow start in the first game of the day as the Blue Jays scored two runs in the bottom of the first to take an early lead. It was a slugfest in the second game as the two teams combined for 42 runs and 36 hits. The Gorloks got on the board first as they scored 13 runs in the first four innings to take an early lead. The Blue Jays answered with 10 runs of their own over the next three innings and the Gorloks held a 13-10 lead heading into the seventh.
