DECATUR, Ill. – The Webster University women's tennis team was back in action yesterday when they traveled to Decatur, Illinois, to take on the Millikin (Ill.) University Big Blue for a nonconference matchup. The Gorloks defeated the Big Blue by a final score of 7-2 to improve to 11-6 on the season.

The Gorloks got off to a great start in doubles as they captured all three points. Kylie Chitwood and Bailey Higgins defeated Cristina Borunda and Emily Markus in #1 doubles by a final score of 1-0. Evie Schuetz and Bailee Pineda won #2 doubles over D Galvin and McKenna O'Donnell by a final score of 8-3. Lastly, Maddie Mena and Chloe Daughtry won #3 doubles over Zariah Wherry and Kaitlyn Mullins by a final score of 8-3.

Webster carried their momentum over into singles as they took four out of six points. Kylie Chitwood won #1 singles over Cristina Borunda by final scores of 7-5 and 6-3. Bailee Pineda defeated Zariah Wherry in #4 singles by final scores of 6-0, 5-7, and 10-5. Evie Schuetz defeated McKenna O'Donnell in #5 singles by final scores of 6-0 and 6-0. Lastly, Chloe Daughtry won #6 singles over Paiton Plucinski by final scores of 6-1, 4-6, and 13-11.

The Gorloks will be back in action on Wednesday, April 10^th when they host the Greenville (Ill.) University Panthers for a UMAC matchup. The match is set to start at 3 p.m. at the Webster Groves Recreational Complex.
