ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) has released the names of the student-athletes who were selected to an individual award or All-Conference team for the sport of men's soccer. Six Gorloks were selected to an All-Conference team; three First Team, one Second Team, and two Third Team honorees while Danny Nusinovic was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.
Webster earned three First Team All-Conference selections which included forwards Alberto Duque Gonzalez and Scott Price and midfielder Juan Ignacio Martins Ferreira.
Duque Gonzalez, a junior forward from Toledo, Spain earned his first career First Team All-Conference selection where he led the conference with 19 shots on goal that included an average of 2.38 shots on goal per game, three game-winning goals, and tied for first with seven goals. In addition, he finished fourth in the conference with 31 shots which included an average of 3.88 shots per game and fifth with 16 points which included a two points per game average.
Price, a sophomore forward from Llandovery, Wales earned his first career First Team and second career All-Conference selection where finished with inside five top-10 conference statistics. Price led the conference with 38 shots which included a 4.75 shots per game average and finished second with five assists. In addition, he tied for third with 16 shots on goal and tied for third with 17 points for an average of 2.13 points per game. Lastly, he tied for fifth with six goals.
Ferreira, a first-year student-athlete from Buenos Aires, Argentina earned his first career All-Conference honor where he finished the season inside four top-10 offensive conference statistical categories. Ferreira tied for second in the conference with 16 shots on goal and tied for fifth with 29 shots that included an average of 3.63 shots per game. In addition, he tied for seventh in the league with five goals that included one game-winner and tied for seventh with 11 points that included an average of 1.38 points per game.
The Gorloks had one Second Team All-Conference selection which was first-year defender Niklas Storck. Storck, a native of Frankfurt Am Main, Germany, started all eight conference games and was a key contributor of the defense that allowed only eight conference goals all season. Lastly, he recorded one shot on goal.
The Gorloks earned two Third Team All-Conference selections which included first-year defender Vladimir Sennikov and senior goalkeeper Luke Dillon. Sennikov, a native of Hitra, Norway earned his first career All-Conference selection where as he was a huge contributor to the Gorloks defense that achieved a one goal against average per game.
Dillon, a local product from St. Peters, Missouri capped off his incredible Gorlok with a Third Team All-Conference selection where he finished tied for third in the conference with two shutouts, fourth was a .748 goals against average, fourth with a .828 save percentage, and seventh with a 3.43 saves per game average. In addition, he recorded 24 saves, allowed only five goals, and earned six conference victories this season.
Every year, the SLIAC awards one student-athlete from each institution that displays the ideals of sportsmanship that include fairness, civility, honesty, unselfishness, respect, and responsibility. This year, Danny Nusinovic was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.
