In the top of the third, Webster made their first pitching change of the game and called upon Cullen McBride out of the bullpen. The first two batters he faced reached base and advantage 90 feet on a sacrifice bunt. After a strikeout recorded by McBride, Auggie's Michael Aragon increased the deficit to 3-0 with a two-rbi double.

In the top of the fourth, McBride recorded two strikeouts and a pop out to himself on the mound for a scoreless inning. In the top of the sixth, Webster made another pitching change and called upon senior Carter Hunt. The first batter he faced reached on an error and was later thrown out by catcher Nick Wrubluski at third as he caught him trying to swipe a bag. Hunt closed out the inning with back-to-back strikeouts that kept the deficit at 3-0.

In the top of the eighth inning, Webster called upon reliever Drew Koenig as he got in a jam after a leadoff single by Colton Davis. Moments later, Auggie's Davis stole second and advanced to third on an error. Following a strikeout by Koenig, Davis scored on a wild pitch issued by Koenig that ended his outing.
