ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Webster University volleyball team has launched its 15th annual Dig Pink Campaign in partnership with the Side-Out Foundation. Throughout the month of October, the Gorloks will be raising money in support of breast cancer research and the Side-Out Research Program.
For the past 16 seasons, Head Coach Merry Graf and the Webster volleyball program have hosted Dig Pink events and raised more than $10,000 for the cause. This year, the Gorloks will continue that tradition with fundraising efforts throughout the month of October.
The Gorloks will have three home matches during the month, beginning with a matchup against Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Thursday, October 8 at 7 p.m. Webster will then host a tri-match on Saturday, October 17, facing Lyon College at 10 a.m. and Spalding University at 2 p.m.
The October 17 tri-match will serve as Webster's official Dig Pink event, with several opportunities for fans to support the cause. Silent auction baskets will be available in the athletics lobby, while 50/50 raffle tickets will also be available for purchase, with a winner drawn at the conclusion of the match.
Between the second and third sets, fans will also have the opportunity to participate in Heads or Tails. Fans may contribute $1 to play, with the winner receiving a gift.
Fans can also support the Gorloks' Dig Pink Campaign by making an online donation through the Side-Out Foundation.
