Women’s Tennis Falls To Monmouth

MONMOUTH, Ill. - The Webster University women's tennis team competed in their third match of the spring season with a non-conference decision at Monmouth. The Gorloks battled the Scots but fell short by the score of 0-7. 

In doubles competition, the Gorloks captured their only victory of the match in the double two match where the team of Doreen Eyongeta and Maria Pinilla Pena secured a 6-3 victory. 

In the number one doubles match, the duo of Maggie McBratney and Abby Cristea secured two set victories but fell by the score of 2-6.  

Monmouth won the third doubles match by default.

In singles play, McBratney secured two set victories in the number one match but fell by the identical score of 1-6.

In the number two singles match, Cristea earned three set victories in the second set but dropped the match by the scores of 0-6 and 3-6. 

In the third singles match, Eyongeta won two set victories in the first set but fell by the scores of 2-6 and 0-6.

In the fourth singles match, Pinilla Pena won one set in the second set but dropped the match by the scores of 0-6 and 1-6.

In the fifth singles match: Irune Rubio Fernandez captured one set victory but dropped the match by the scores of 1-6 and 0-6. 

In the sixth singles match, Monmouth won by default.
