ST. LOUIS, Mo. — Webster University claimed three St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) weekly honors this week as men's soccer swept the league's Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards, while men's cross country runner Ethan Nieroda earned Runner of the Week honors for the second consecutive week.

Nieroda recorded another strong performance at the Larry Young Invitational, finishing in the top 20 of the men's 8K. He crossed the finish line in 27:47 to earn his second straight SLIAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week honor.

In men's soccer, the Gorloks swept the conference's weekly awards following a pair of strong performances.

Scott Price was named the SLIAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week after coming through with a clutch goal against Rhodes. Price scored the game-tying goal with just 1:07 remaining, helping Webster earn a 1-1 draw. He finished the week with five shots, including four on goal.

Jakub Samelko earned SLIAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honors after making six saves across two matches. Samelko recorded three saves in each game and allowed just two goals on the week as the Gorloks finished with a pair of ties.

The three weekly honors give Webster another strong showing in the conference's weekly awards, with Nieroda continuing his impressive start to the cross country season and the men's soccer team claiming both conference honors.
