The Webster University women's volleyball team defeated Eureka College (IL), 3-0, in straight sets at Grant Gymnasium on October 12. It was a hard fought victory for the Gorloks as the Red Devils made them earn each set. Webster improved to 7-2 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with the victory.
After winning the first set 25-22, Webster needed 29 points to win the second as the teams see-sawed back and forth before the Gorloks prevailed, 29-27. The 29 points was the most scored in a set by the Gorloks since they scored 31 on Sept. 5, 2008 vs. North Central College (IL). Webster went on to win the third set 25-16.
Webster improved to 11-13 overall on the season. The team contnues its quest for a fourth straight SLIAC title with a tri-match at home on October 16 vs. Principia College (IL) and Blackburn College (IL). The Gorloks take to the road on October 20 as they take on Spalding University in Louisville, KY.
