Savage and Scott Selected SLIAC Players of the Week

Will Savage and Kyler Scott have been named St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Players of the Week for April 19-25.  This is the second time this year that Scott has been honored.  Savage last received the honor in 2009.

Savage, a senior from Lisle, Ill. (Benet Academy), has been named the Diamond Sports SLIAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week.  Savage, a right-handed pitcher, threw a complete game victory to lead the Gorloks to a 4-1 win versus Washington University. In nine innings of work, he allowed six hits, one run, and one walk, while striking out five batters. The win brings his season record to 5-0, tying him with teammate David Mueller (SO, Westminster Christian Academy, STL), who is 5-0 also, for the best winning percentage in the SLIAC.

Scott, a freshman from Culver, Ind. (Culver Academy), has been named the SLIAC Golfer of the Week.
He shot a one-over par 73 last week at the SLIAC Preview, hosted by Webster at Timber Lakes Golf Course in Staunton, Ill.  Scott placed first in the field of 20 SLIAC golfers, marking his third victory of the season. He also helped the Gorloks to a first place finish out of four SLIAC schools competing.  Webster finished with a 306, the lowest round of the year for the squad by 10 strokes.
