The Webster University men's soccer team lost to Luther College, 3-0, on September 6 in Decorah, IA. The Gorloks were unable to mount any offense against a Norse squad that outscored two weekend opponents, 10-1.
Webster was outshot, 10-3, in the first half with no shots on goal. Luther got on the board at the 36:00 miinute mark and took only 25 more seconds to make it 2-0. The Gorloks had a better showing in the second half, with shots at 8-6 in favor of the Norse. Luther scored its final goal with just four minutes left in the contest, for the 3-0 final.
Zach Horn (JR, Godfrey, IL/Alton Marquette HS) was in goal for Webster. He faced 18 Norse shots, making two saves and allowing three goals while taking the loss.
Joey Florian (JR, Ballwin, MO/John F. Kennedy HS) had two shots on goal for the Gorloks. Drew Quisenberry, a freshman from Morton, IL (Morton HS) had Webster's only shot on goal in the game.
Luther improved to 2-1 for the year. Webster is 0-3 on the season and will next be in action for its home opener on September 11, against Lake Forest College at the Soccer Park. The Gorloks will also host the University of the Ozarks on September 13 at the Soccer Park.
