Kasper & Noser Power Women's Soccer To Eighth Win

The Webster University women's soccer team remained perfect on the season with a 4-1 win at Transylvania University, on September 23 in Lexington, KY.  Melissa Kasper and Chelsea Noser helped power the Gorloks, ranked 8th in the Central Region, to the victory.

Kasper (SO, Chicago, IL/Oswego) scored just over four minutes into the contest off a pass from Noser (SR, Collinsville, IL/Collinsville).  It was Kasper's second tally of the season.  Two minutes later, Kasper returned the favor, setting up Noser at the 6:00 mark, for a 2-0 lead.  It was Noser's third of the season and that would turn out to be the game-winner.

Alisa Coralic (JR, St. Louis, MO/Mehlville) started in goal for the Gorloks and blanked the Pioneers in the first half.  Webster dominated play in the half, outshooting Tranny, 8-2, and having a 4-0 advantage in corner kicks.

The Pioneers got on the board three minutes into the second half, slipping a goal past Abbey Mercer (SO, Granite City, IL/Granite City), who took over the Webster net in the second half.  That cut the Gorlok lead to 2-1.

Webster got that goal back at 59:29 as the dynamic duo of the day struck once again.  Noser netted her second goal of the game off a pass from Kasper to give the Gorloks a 3-1 advantage.  Noser now has 22 career goals and is tied with Kayla Dye for 15th on Webster's all-time goals list.

Jenn Laaksonen (SO, St. Louis, MO/Fox) added another insurance goal at 84:14 off a pass from Briann Johnson (JR, Hannibal, MO/Hannibal) for a 4-1 lead.  The Gorloks finished with a 20-7 edge in shots.  Coralic picked up the win in the nets, and is 3-0 on the year.  She now has 16 wins for her career, and is tied for seventh place with Brittany Senator on Webster's all-time list.

Webster, coming off a thrilling OT win over Rose-Hulman, is 8-0 on the season.  Webster's eight-game win streak is its longest since the Gorloks started the 2007 season at 8-0.  Transylvania, a member of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, is 2-4-1

Webster will travel to Washington University, the #1 ranked NCAA III team in the nation, on September 26.  The Gorloks begin play in the SLIAC on September 30 with a home game vs. Iowa Wesleyan University at the Soccer Park.
