WEBSTER GROVES - Webster University completed a stretch of three matches in three days here Saturday afternoon as the Gorloks earned a 9-0 shutout win over St. Louis College of Pharmacy in non-conference action at the Webster Groves Tennis Center.

Saturday's match followed the Gorloks home match on Thursday against Illinois College and its St. Louis Intercollegiate Conference match on Friday at the Sunset Tennis Center against Fontbonne. The Gorloks went 2-1 on those three matches with wins over both St. Louis Pharmacy and Fontbonne (8-1) and a 9-0 setback against Illinois College.

With Saturday's win, Webster improves to 5-3 overall on the season and has now won two straight matches, while St. Louis Pharmacy falls to 1-7 on the season.

In Saturday's match, the Gorloks opened by winning all three doubles matches and allowed just two games to the Eutectics as Webster won by 8-1 scores at both No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, while sophomore Nicolas Andrade (Quito, Ecuador/Francis Howell) and freshman Zach Bliss (Branson, Mo./Branson) teamed together to post an 8-0 win at the No. 3 spot.

Meanwhile, in singles action, Webster lost only 11 games total in the six matches and won two of the matches by identical 6-0, 6-0 scores.

The first Gorlok to post a 6-0, 6-0 win was sophomore Riley Muren (O'Fallon, Ill./Illinois-Springfield) at No. 1 singles, while the second was junior Charles McGhee (Waterloo, Ill./Waterloo), who won 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 3 spot.

Freshman Courtland Butler (St. Louis, Mo.) won his fourth consecutive singles match as he picked up a 6-0, 6-1 win at the No. 6 spot over St. Louis Pharmacy's Zuan Le.
