EUREKA, Ill. - Webster University sophomore forward
Jordan Lande (Sachse, Texas/Sachse) scored four goals here Saturday as the Gorloks opened St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with a 13-0 shutout victory over Eureka College at Traister Field on the Eureka campus.
Lande's four goal game was just the seventh in school history and first since Chelsea Noser scored four goals against Eureka on Oct. 3, 2015. The eight points by Lande were a career high and are also tied for 10th most in a match in school history and the most points scored in a match by a Gorlok player since senior forward
Melissa Kasper (Oswego, Ill./Oswego) tallied nine points against MacMurray last season.
With the win. Webster improves to 7-3-0 on the season, while Eureka falls to 1-8-0 overall. Webster has now won its SLIAC opener for the 21st consecutive season and extends its regular season conference win streak to 30 consecutive matches dating to the 2015 season.Â
In addition to Lande's haul (4 goals in a game), senior midfielder
Savannah Page (Sandy, Utah/Jordan) added two goals and two assists for six points, while seven other Gorloks recorded a goal to seal the win. Along with Page's two assists, sophomore midfielder
Julia Paradise (St. Louis, Mo./Parkway North) had a career high three assists and senior midfielder
Olivia Osterhage (Eureka, Mo./Eureka) added two assists.Â
For the match, the Gorloks scored 13 goals, took 49 shots and had a season high 27 shots on goal and recorded a season high 13 corner kicks. The 13 goals were the most scored by the Gorloks since scoring 13 goals against MacMurray on Oct. 8, 2016.Â
Paradise got the the scoring started just 88 seconds into the contest as she tallied an unassisted goal.Â
Lande would score the first of her four goals in the 15th minute as she took a pass from Paradise and found the goal and about 32 seconds after Lande's first goal, Page would score her first goal off a pass from Paradise to give WU a 3-0 lead.Â
The Gorloks pushed its lead to 4-0 as Lande took a pass from freshman defender
Devan Pranchke (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield East) and scored in the 23rd minute and then tallied her third goal in 24th minute off an assist from Paradise to give the Gorloks a 5-0 lead.
Late in the 27th minute, freshman defender
Jenna Stobie (Glen Carbon, Ill./Edwardsville) scored her first career goal to give WU a 6-0 lead. Stobie's goal came off an assist from sophomore midfielder
Hailey Busche (Troy, Ill./Triad).Â
Freshman defender
Keri Voegtle (St. Louis, Mo./Windsor) got into the scoring column with her first career goal in the 30th minute to give the Gorloks a 7-0 lead. Voegtle's goal was unassisted.Â
In the first half, Webster recorded 38 of its 49 shots and had 18 shots on goal, while its defense held the Red Devils without a shot.Â
Page would tally her second goal of the match just 55 seconds into the second half to give WU an 8-0 lead. Page's goal came off an assist by Osterhage.
Lande completed her four goal game in the 48th minute as she took a pass from freshman midfielder
Sophia Lambiase (Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas/Samuel V Champion) and found the net to increase WU's advantage to 9-0.
About 24 seconds later, freshman defender
Reaghan Young (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) took a pass from Page and found the goal for Webster's 10th goal of the match.
Kasper would then find the net in the 54th minute as she took an assist from Osterhage to score her seventh goal of the season and 41st of her career, which is seventh on the school's all-time chart.Â

Kaleigh Finney (Concord, Calif./Northgate) gave the Gorloks a 12-0 lead as she took an assist from freshman midfielder
Carlee McCormack (Rolla, Mo./Rolla) and scored in the 65th minute.Â
Webster completed the scoring in the 75th minute as freshman forward
Mackenzie O'Neal (Milwaukee, Wis./South Milwaukee) took a pass from Page and found the net for her first career goal.Â
Lande and Page each took six shots and each player had four shots on goal, while Paradise and O'Neal each took five shots and Finney had four shots in the win.Â
Eureka would finish the game without a shot and it marked the first time since the Eureka match last season that Webster did not allow a shot in a match.
Freshman
Taryn Banfield (Plano, Texas/Plano East) picked up the win in goal to improve to 6-2-0 on the season as she played all 45 minutes in the first half and didn't face a shot. Senior
Abbey Mercer (Granite City, Ill./Granite City) played the entire second half in goal and didn't face a shot.Â
Madison Shires (0-1-0) took the loss in the net for Eureka as she allowed 13 goals and recorded 12 saves for the Red Devils.Â
The Gorloks will look to move to 2-0 in SLIAC play this coming Wednesday, Oct. 9 as they host Iowa Wesleyan for 7 p.m. match at World Wide Technology Soccer Park in Fenton, Mo.
