ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Webster University Director of Athletics,
Scott Kilgallon, named
Ben Economon as the Sports Information Director in September 2021. Economon will be responsible for all sports information tasks for Webster Athletics.

I am looking forward to working with Ben as a vital member of our team."
Economon comes to Webster University from Harris-Stowe State University where he served as the Director of Sport Communication and Media Relations since January of 2019. While at Harris-Stowe, Economon served as the primary contact for the athletic department while coordinating all game day operations and work study students. He ran the Hornet Athletics social media accounts and played a role in the development of their new athletics website that debuted in January of 2021.
Prior to his time at Harris-Stowe, Economon was a Sports Information Graduate Assistant at Columbia College under current CoSIDA President, Cindy Potter. While at Columbia College, he created game programs, game notes, and maintained the athletic website. Before starting at Columbia College, the 2019 CoSIDA Convention Attendance Grant recipient spent a summer working as a Tournament Operations Intern for the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour where he traveled around the country for an entire summer putting on golf tournaments for junior golfers.

Economon is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Parks, Recreation and Tourism with an emphasis in Sport Management. He also attended Columbia (Mo.) College where he obtained his Master of Science in Criminal Justice.
