Gorloks Wrap Up Regular Season

CARLINVILLE, Ill. – The Webster University women's soccer team was back in action this afternoon when they traveled to Carlinville, Illinois, to take on the Blackburn (Ill.) College Beavers for their final game of the regular season. The Gorloks defeated the Beavers by a final score of 9-0 to improve to 13-6-1 on the season and 10-3-1 in conference play. With the loss, Blackburn falls to 1-16 on the season and 0-14 in the SLIAC.

Webster outshot the Beavers 58-2 and had 34 shots on target. They also finished with 10 corners while the Beavers finished with one.

The Gorloks got on the board early and often in the first halve as Grace Rodgers (11), Riley Wilder (2), Sienna Inouye (2), Jordan Lande (14), Bre Smith (1), and Abbey Poe (8) all found the back of the net to give Webster a 6-0 lead at the break. Grace Rodgers recorded two assists in the half while Jordan Lande, Sienna Inouye, and Emily Buchholz each finished with one.

Webster carried over their momentum into the second half as Reyce Reller (1), Emily Buchholz (3), and Grace Rodgers (12) all found the back of the net. Isabella Dickneite and Reyce Reller both recorded assists in the period.

Heather Jones was in goal for the Gorloks as she did not record a save in her second solo shutout of the season.

The Gorloks have clinched the second seed in the SLIAC Women's Soccer Tournament and will host their semifinal match on Thursday, November 3rd at 5 p.m. at WWT Soccer Park.
