HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Webster University men's tennis team was back in action this afternoon when they took on Ithaca (N.Y.) College for their final match of their spring break trip. The Gorloks fell to the Bombers by a final score of 9-0 to fall to 4-6 on the season.
The Gorloks had a tough time getting anything going in the doubles portion of the match.
Riley Muren and
Carson Fisher fell in #1 doubles to Mino Stavrakas and Jacob Wachs by a final score of 8-3.
Matthew Birchmeier and
Tanner Haugen fell to Tyler Del Zappo and Max Sobel in #2 doubles by a final score of 8-4. Lastly,
Aaron Demarco and
Andrew McDonald fell in # 3 doubles to Wydman Ward and Eric Dubilirer by a final score of 8-2.
Tanner Haugen came the closest to winning his singles match but fell to Tyler Del Zappo in #4 singles. He lost the first game by a final score of 6-1 and then fell in the second game by a final score of 7-5.
The Gorloks are back in action on Friday, March 25
th when they host Baker (Ka.) University for a nonconference matchup at Webster Groves Recreational Complex. The match is set to start at 3 p.m.
