ST. CHARLES, Mo. – The Webster University men's and women's track and field team was back in action today when they traveled to St. Charles, Missouri, to compete in the John Creer Invitational. The men's team took eighth out of 12 teams with a team score od 29 while the women's team finished 10
th out 16 teams with a team score of 23.
Elijah Perez was the leading point getter for the men's side as he finished with 10 of the teams 29 points. He finished fourth in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dash with times of 10.52 in the 100-meter and 21.70 in the 200-meter. The 4x400 meter relay team of
Joshua Clark,
Sam Baker,
Kaelin Triggs, and Tyler Rayson added six points for the Gorloks as they finished in fourth place with a time of 3:40.39. In addition,
Kaelin Triggs took 6
th in the 800-meter (1:59.00) to capture four points,
Sam Baker finished ninth in the 1500-meter (4:24.63) to finish with one point,
Javier Cervantes took eighth in the 5000-meter (17:37.47) to add one point,
Armond Williams took eighth in the high jump (1.75m) to finish with one point,
Kaiden Klein took fifth in the javelin throw (40.48m) to add four points, and
Jeremiah Johnson took eighth place in both the hammer throw (29.51m) and Javelin throw (33.39m) to capture two total points. The full men's results are as follows:
Danielle Schultz led the way for the women's side as she took first place in the 800-meter with a time of 2:22.36 to capture 10 points for the team.
Vanessa Jones also had a great day as she took fifth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:15.27 and sixth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.15 to finish with eight total points. In addition,
Rachel Jackson took seventh in the high jump (1.30m) to finish with two points and
Isabelle Llewellyn added three points after finishing seventh in the shot put (9.75m). The full women's results are as follows:
The men's and women's track and field team will return to the track on Friday, April 29
th and Saturday, April 30
th when they travel to Greenville, Illinois, to compete in the SLIAC Outdoor Championships at Greenville (Ill.) University.
