GREENVILLE, Ill. – The Webster University women's track and field team was back in action over the past two days when they traveled to Greenville, Illinois, to compete in the SLIAC Outdoor Championships at Greenville (Ill.) University. The Gorloks took second in the meet after finishing with a team score of 91 points. Greenville won the meet after finishing with a team score of 341 points.
Danielle Schultz led the way for Webster as she was a part of 28 of the teams 91 points. She took first place in two events including the 800-meter and the 1500-meter. She finished with a time of 2:24.50 in the 800-meter and a time of 5:18.41 in the 1500-meter to captures 20 points for the team. She was also a member of the 4x400-meter relay team, along with
Micah Barnes,
Jordan Lande, and
Vanessa Jones, who finished in second place with a time of 4:13.49.
In addition to Schultz,
Michelle Grant won the 10000-meter run with a time of 46:22.80 to add 10 points for the Gorloks.
Vanessa Jones had a pair of second place finishes to capture 16 points for the Gorloks. She took second in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:12.74 and the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.40.

Following the conclusion of the meet, the Gorloks were recognized with the All-Sportsmanship Award. This is the second time in program history the team has won the award.
The Gorloks will return to the track on Thursday, May 12
th when they travel to Naperville, Illinois, to compete in the Carius/Gregory Invitational at North Central (Ill.) College.
