ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Webster University tennis team was back in action last night when they played host to the Principia (Ill.) College Panthers for their final SLIAC match of the season. With the win, Principia improves to 7-9 on the year and 2-1 in SLIAC play.

Prior to the start of the match, the team honored their two seniors for all their hard work and dedication to the men's tennis program. Riley Muren and Tanner Haugen were both honored.

The Gorloks had a tough time getting anything going in the doubles portion of the match as they were swept. Riley Muren and Matthew Birchmeier fell in #1 doubles by a final score of 8-1. Carson Fisher and Tanner Haugen fell in #2 doubles by a final score of 8-1. Lastly, Chase Boushard and Andrew McDonald fell in #3 doubles by a final score of 8-5.

Webster's struggles carried over into the singles portion of the match as they lost the first three singles before having to suspend the last three singles matches due to the courts being too wet. Matthew Birchmeier was the last player to finish his singles match as he fell in #3 singles by final scores of 6-3 and 6-0.

The Gorloks will return to the court this evening when they play host to Concordia Seminary for their final match of the regular season. The match is set to start at 7 p.m. at Webster Groves Recreational Complex.
