ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Webster University men's tennis team was back in action today when they played host to Kaskaskia (Ill.) College for a nonconference matchup. The Gorloks defeated Kaskaskia by a final score of 9-0 to improve to 8-9 on the season.
Webster got off to a great start in this one as they swept all three doubles matches.
Alex Pinkston and
Matthew Birchmeier won #1 doubles as they defeated Tejas Zala and Pierce Farmer by a final score of 8-3.
Carson Fisher and
Britton Struewing won #2 doubles as they defeated Ethan Dobbs and Brock Milburn by a final score of 8-0.
Aaron Demarco and
Andrew McDonald completed the sweep as they won #3 doubles over Dima Powell and Brendan Phillips by a final score of 8-1.
The Gorloks carried over their momentum into singles as they swept all six matches.
Alex Pinkston won #1 singles over Tejas Zala by final scores of 6-0 and 6-0.
Nicholas Granada won #2 singles over Pierce Farmer by final scores of 6-1 and 6-0.
Aaron Demarco won #3 singles over Brendan Phillips by final scores of 6-2 and 6-2.
Robert McDaniel captured the win in #4 singles as he defeated Brock Milburn by final scores of 6-1 and 6-1.
Alex Magrath won #5 singles as he defeated Ethan Dobbs by final scores of 3-6, 6-3 and 10-7. Lastly,
Jack Forlenza won #6 singles over Reed Dearing by final scores of 6-1 and 6-3.
The Gorloks will return to the court on Thursday, March 30
th when they host Lewis and Clark Community College for a nonconference matchup. The match will take place at 6:30 p.m. at Webster Groves Recreational Complex.
