GREENVILLE, Ill. – The Webster University women's track and field team was back in action this afternoon when they traveled to Greenville, Illinois, to compete in the SLIAC Outdoor Championships at Greenville (Ill.) University. The Gorloks took second place out of eight teams as they finished with a team score of 66 points. Greenville won the event as they finished with 344 points.
Vanessa Jones led the way for Webster as she accumulated 32 of the teams 66 points. She took first place in the 400-meter hurdles as she finished with a time of 1:10.24 to score 10 points. She took second place in the 100-meter hurdles after finishing with a time of 15.63 seconds to capture eight points. She took third place in the pole vault after clearing the bar at 2.43 meters to score six points. Lastly, she was a member of the 4x400 meter relay team along with
Olivia Nelsen,
Kianna Patton, and
Micah Barnes who finished in second place with a time of 4:30.29 to score eight points. Jones earned All-SLIAC honors in all four events she competed in.
In addition to being a member of the 4x400 meter relay team,
Olivia Nelsen also scored 12 additional points for the Gorloks. She took fourth place in the 100-meter hurdles with a personal record time of 17.06 seconds to score four points, and then went on to take second place in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:10.47 to score eight points. Nelsen earned All-SLIAC honors in the 4x400 meter relay and the 400-meter hurdles.
Isabelle Llewellyn also had a great meet as she captured 17 points in four events. She took sixth place in the shot put with a distance of 10.46 meters to score one point. She took second place in the discus throw with a personal record distance of 35.57 meters to score eight points. She finished in fourth place in the javelin throw with a personal record distance of 34.52 meters to capture four points. Lastly, she finished fourth in the hammer throw with a distance of 40.92 meters to score four points. Llewellyn earned All-SLIAC honors in the discus throw.
Micah Barnes and
Aissata Kamara scored the final five points for Webster. Barnes took fourth place in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:04.10 to score four points. Kamara scored one point after finishing sixth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.51 seconds.
Cali Pavlisko and
Abigail Szydlowski rounded out the top performers for the Gorloks as they combined to set three personal records. Pavlisko set personal records in the javelin throw and the hammer throw as she finished seventh in the javelin with a distance of 34.52 meters and finished eighth in the hammer throw with a distance of 33.30 meters. Szydlowski set a personal record in the discus throw after finishing eighth with a distance of 26.93 meters.

th when they travel to Fayetteville, Arkansas, to compete in the Arkansas Twilight hosted by the University of Arkansas.
