ST. LOUIS, Mo. – This morning the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced the softball all-conference teams as well as the superlative awards for the 2023 season. The Gorloks had eight individuals recognized including Katie Croxall (First Team), Jaelin Holdaway (First Team), Reese Waggoner (Second Team), Paige Thomas (Second Team), Kaley Adzick (Second Team), Ainsley Hinz (Third Team), Sidney Holtz (Third Team), and Kaelyn Kearney (Third Team). In addition, Ella Zgaynor was named to the SLIAC All-Sportsmanship Team.

Katie Croxall – First Team All-SLIAC (Infielder)

Croxall, a sophomore out of El Segundo, California, played a big role for the Gorloks this season. She appeared in 37 games and made 36 starts. She hit .411 on the season while racking up 53 hits, 16 doubles, 40 runs scored, 25 RBI, and 72 total bases while recording an on-base percentage of .443 and a slugging percentage of .558. Her 16 doubles were tied for the team lead while her 53 hits was second on the team. In conference play, Croxall hit .492 with 32 hits, 23 runs scored, and 10 RBI through 18 games. She recorded a .521 on-base percentage and a .646 slugging percentage. Her 10 doubles and 23 runs scored ranked first in the conference while her .492 batting average ranked second. She recorded a hit in all but seven games this season and had 17 multi-hit games, including four hits in the season finale against Fontbonne. This is her second straight season being named First Team All-SLIAC.

Jaelin Holdaway – First Team All-SLIAC (Utility)

Holdaway, a junior out of West Valley, Utah, had a breakout season for Webster. She started all 37 games for the Gorloks and recorded a team high .460 batting average. She finished the regular season with 137 at-bats, 44 runs scored, 63 hits, 16 doubles, four triples, three homeruns, 30 RBI, and 96 total bases while posting a .486 on-base percentage and a .701 slugging percentage. Her 63 hits set a new single season hits record for the Gorloks. She led the team in batting average, slugging percentage, runs scored, hits, triples, total bases, at-bats, and games-started while finishing tied for first in doubles. In conference play, Holdaway recorded 34 hits, eight doubles, two triples, two homeruns, and 22 RBI while recording a .500 batting average and a .765 slugging percentage. She finished the season ranked first in the conference in plate appearances, at-bats, runs scored, hits, and batting average while ranking third in doubles and on-base percentage. She recorded a hit in all but six games this season and had nine games where she had three or more hits. In addition, she was named the SLIAC Softball Hitter of the Week once this season. This is her second straight season being named All-SLIAC and her first time being named to the First Team.

Reese Waggoner – Second Team All-SLIAC (Pitcher)

Waggoner, a junior out of Centennial, Colorado, appeared in 36 games for the Gorloks on the season and made 31 starts. At the plate, Waggoner finished the regular season with 79 at-bats, 11 runs scored, 26 hits, 10 doubles, one triple, one homerun, 17 RBI, and 41 total bases while posting a .356 on-base percentage and a .519 slugging percentage. In the circle, Waggoner finished with a 7-3 overall record while tossing five complete games and three shutouts. She pitched in 58.2 innings on the season allowing just 71 hits, 31 runs scored, and 23 earned runs while striking out a team high 48 batters and posting a team high 2.74 ERA. In conference play, Waggoner hit .382 with five doubles and 10 RBI. She went 5-2 in 10 appearances in the circle and finished with a 2.32 ERA. She finished first in the conference with three shutouts. This is her second straight season being named All-SLIAC but her first time on the Second Team.

Paige Thomas – Second Team All-SLIAC (Catcher)

Thomas, a junior out of Emporia, Kansas, appeared in 36 games while making 35 starts. She finished the year with a .421 batting average while recording 19 runs scored, 48 hits, 12 doubles, four homeruns, and 36 RBI. She posted a .452 on-base percentage and a .632 slugging percentage while recording 72 total bases. She finished first on the team in both homeruns and RBI while finishing second on the team in both batting average and slugging percentage. In conference play, Thomas recorded 33 hits, eight doubles, three homeruns, and 26 RBI while posting a .485 batting average, a .486 on-base percentage, and a .735 slugging percentage. Her 26 RBI ranked first in the conference while her 33 hits ranked second and her eight doubles ranked third. She recorded a hit in all but nine games this season including a 21-game stretch that lasted from March 16^th to May 7^th. In addition, she was named the SLIAC Softball Hitter of the Week once this season. This is her third straight season being named All-SLIAC and her second time being named to the Second Team.

Kaley Adzick – Second Team All-SLIAC (Infielder)

Adzick, a freshman out of Wildwood, Missouri, appeared in 37 games and made 36 starts. She recorded 52 hits, 36 runs scored, seven doubles, three homeruns, 29 RBI, and 68 total bases while hitting .419 and slugging .551. She was also one of the Gorloks main pitchers this season as she made 18 appearances in the circle including 14 starts. She went 7-8 on the season while recording a team high 79.2 innings pitched. She finished the season with four compete games and a 4.22 ERA. In conference play, Adzick finished with 27 hits, four doubles, two homeruns, and 14 RBI while posting a .450 batting average and .617 slugging percentage. In the circle, she went 5-2 with 22 strikeouts and a 2.92 ERA. She had 16 multi-hit games on the season including back-to-back four hits games in March. In addition, she was named the SLIAC Softball Hitter of the Week once this season. This is her first career All-SLIAC selection.

Ainsley Hinz – Third Team All-SLIAC (Pitcher)

Hinz, a freshman pitcher out of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, appeared in 29 games for Webster and made 16 starts. In the circle, Hinz appeared in 22 games and made seven starts. She finished the year with a 3-3 overall record while also recording the teams only save on the season. She struck out 27 batters in 53.1 innings pitched and finished the season with a 4.33 ERA. She also recorded a complete game against Dickinson (Penn.) College. At the plate, Hinz had 38 at-bats on the season as she had a .211 batting average with eight hits, one double, and seven RBI. In conference play, Hinz made 12 appearances including nine in the circle. She went 1-1 with a 3.94 ERA and 11 strikeouts in 21.1 innings pitched. She hit .235 with a double and an RBI. This is her first career All-SLIAC recognition.

Sidney Holtz – Third Team All-SLIAC (Infielder)

Holtz, a junior out of Taylorsville, Utah, appeared in 30 games and made 29 starts. She finished the year with a .321 batting average while recording 25 hits, six doubles, 12 RBI, 31 total bases, and 13 runs scored. She posted a .385 on-base percentage and a .415 slugging percentage on the year. In conference play, Holtz started all 18 games as she recorded 15 hits with four doubles and nine RBI. She recorded a .278 batting average and a .352 slugging percentage. This is her second career All-SLIAC selection and her first time being named to the Third Team.

Kaelyn Kearney – Third Team All-SLIAC (Outfielder)

Kearney, a junior out of Draper, Utah, appeared in 32 games this season and made 31 starts. She finished the year with a .330 batting average while recording 30 hits, six doubles, one triple, and 22 runs scored. She also posted a .386 on-base percentage and a .418 slugging percentage. She started all 18 conference games for the Gorloks as she posted a .240 batting average with 15 hits, 10 runs scored, three doubles, and nine RBI. This is her second career All-SLIAC selection and her first time being named to the Third Team.
