ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Webster University women's basketball team was back in action this afternoon when they played host to the Greenville (Ill.) University Panthers for the teams annual Coaches vs. Cancer game. The Gorloks defeated the Panthers by a final score of 88-57 to improve to 19-0 on the season and 12-0 in the SLIAC. With the loss, Greenville drops to 10-9 on the season and 7-4 in conference play.
Webster went 32-for-63 (50.8%) from the floor and 7-for-19 (36.8%) from behind the arc. They were outrebounded by the Panthers by a final count of 36-29 with 12 boards coming on the offensive end. They forced the Panthers to turn the ball over 29 times in the game and turned those turnovers into 36 points on the other end of the floor. Webster also dished out 13 assists while recording 15 steals.
Webster came out in the first quarter of the game and jumped out to a 9-6 lead early in the contest. They continued to play well as the quarter progressed and ended the period on a 19-9 run to take a 28-15 lead into the second. They carried their momentum into the second and started the frame on an 11-4 run to push their lead to 20. The Panthers would outscore the Gorloks 15-8 down the final stretch of the half but the Gorloks would take a 47-34 lead into the locker room.
Webster came out in the second half and quickly extended their lead out to 15. The Panthers battled back and cut the lead to as many as seven, but the Gorloks ended the quarter on a 13-0 run to take a 70-50 lead into the fourth. Webster would outscore the Panthers 18-7 in the final frame and cruised to their 19
th win of the season.

Emily Wilson who finished with a team high 15 points and a team high eight rebounds.
Julie Baudendistel,
Claire Williams,
Bethany Lancaster, and
Kate Rolfes also finished in double figures as Baudendistel had 13 and Williams had 12 while Lancaster and Rolfes each had 10.
The Gorloks will hit the road for their next two games starting with a Wednesday, January 31
st matchup against Spalding (Ky.) University in Louisville, Kentucky. The game is set to start at 5:30 p.m. EST.
