ST. LOUIS- Clarissa "Reese" Ramirez, a Certified Athletic Trainer at Webster University, was awarded the 2023-24 Staff of the Year award. Ramirez is one of only four employees to be honored with the award, out of the more than 6,000 employees in Webster's worldwide network.
Reese has been the only Certified Athletic Trainer on staff since 2023 and currently works with approximately 300 student-athletes. To meet this demand, Reese added longer hours to each day that required more nights and weekends to provide the necessary treatment for the student-athletes.
During those long nights and weekends, Ramirez worked with physicians and other health care providers, processed insurance claims, and executed superb communication with coaches and parents regarding the care of the student-athletes. In addition, Reese has been amazing at scheduling help when there is more than one event occurring at the same time at different locations and ensuring the safety and welfare of our student-athletes.
"Ramirez has been a fantastic model employee that has endured long hours that were required on nights and weekends to care for the athletic teams and their student-athletes. Above all, I appreciate that she gets this additional workload done with a positive attitude and she never complains. Her commitment to our student-athletes and Webster University is second to none." said Scott Kilgallon - Director of Athletics.Â
Webster University is comprised of more than 50 locations operating in seven countries and serving students from 138 different countries. Nominations for this award are collected anonymously from employees and students through the Webster worldwide network.
