Men's Basketball Downs Eureka, 64-52, Picks Up First Win in SLIAC

The Webster University men’s basketball team got in the win column in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, beating Eureka College (IL), 64-52, at Grant Gymnasium on December 4. A 19-4 run by the Gorloks early in the first half staked them to a 23-8 lead. Webster led 39-21 at the half, and maintained a comfortable lead throughout the remainder of the contest.

Nick Jones (SR, Heritage HS, IL) led the Gorloks with 14 points. Freshman Alec Kuhl (Mater Dei HS, IL) had 12 points while filling in for the injured Jarrod Huskey (FR, Hillsboro HS, MO). Willie Trimble (JR, Riverside CC, CA) had 12 points, six rebounds, and six assists. Drew Moore (SR, Northwest HS) led Webster with eight rebounds.

The Gorloks improved to 1-1 in the SLIAC and 3-2 overall. Webster hits the road again to take on Division II Drury University in Springfield, MO, on December 8, and then heads to Mississippi to face Rust College on December 11.
