Gorloks Run Down Red Devils, 69-29

The Webster University women’s basketball improved to 2-0 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with a 69-29 win over Eureka College (IL), on December 4 at Grant Gymnasium. The Webster offense was in gear, while the defense held the Red Devils to 16% shooting from the field for the game.

Webster built a 23-2 lead to start the game and cruised to a 35-11 halftime lead. A 23-4 Webster run to start the second half left no doubt as to the outcome of the contest. A steady stream of Gorloks joined in the scoring as Coach Jordan Olufson went to the bench often in the victory.

Barissa Ford (SR, Clayton HS) and Megan Willett (JR, Parkway West HS) led Webster with 11 points each. Tyeila Gant (JR, Lee’s Summit HS, MO) had eight point in 10 minutes of play. Molly Zehner (SR, Oakville HS) pulled down a team-leading nine rebounds for the Gorloks. Thirteen different players joined in on the scoring.

The Gorloks are 4-3 overall on the season. Webster’s next game is at home game is on December 11, vs. Central College (IA). The team has a week off before facing the nationally ranked Washington University Bears at Grant Gymnasium on December 18.
