Coach Olufson Secures Third Career SLIAC Coach of the Year Award

BELLEVILLE, Ill. - The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) has released the end of the season awards for the sport of Women's Basketball. Head Coach Jordan Olufson was named the SLIAC Coach of the Year after leading the Gorloks to the 2025-26 SLIAC Regular Season Regular title with a 14-2 conference record. With this selection, it marks his third Coach of the Year award as the leader of the Gorloks. 

This season, Coach Olufson led this year's team that is composed of three seniors, five juniors, one sophomore, and eight first-years student-athletes to a SLIAC Regular Season title which marks their seventh consecutive title under his leadership.

In conference play, he led the Gorloks to a conference-best 41.1 field goal percentage and league-best average of 17.8 defensive turnovers per game. In addition, he led the Gorloks to a second place finish by holding opponents to an average of 54.6 points per game. In addition, he led the Gorloks to a margin of victory of 16 points which finished second in the league. 

The Gorloks finished second in the conference in assists and steals; 253 assists that included an average of 15.81 assists per game and 238 steals that included an average of 14.88 steals per game. 

This season, Coach Olufson coached three All-Conference selections in Akaela Caquelin, Meghan Illingworth, and Miya Webb as Webb was also selected to the SLIAC All-Defensive Team. 

In addition, he coached the SLIAC 6th Woman of the Year selection in Caquelin as she marked the fourth consecutive Gorlok to win the award. He also coached the SLIAC Freshman of the Year honoree in Caquelin. With both awards by Caquelin, Olufson coached the first-ever Gorlok to win both awards in the same season.

Each year, the SLIAC awards the Women's Basketball Regular Season Champion Head Coach with the Coach of the Year honor.
