The Webster University women's basktball team had its run at the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title slowed down, losing 60-47 at Westminster College in Fulton, MO, on February 10. The loss ended a four-game winning streak for Webster. The Gorloks remain at 15 wins as they seek to reach 16 wins for just the second time in the program's 24-year history.
Webster trailed 28-23 at halftime and traded baskets most of the second half before Westminster pulled away in the final three minutes of the game. Ayrica Lockett (SO, Crossroads Prep, STL) led the Gorloks with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Freshman Maggie Zehner pitched in with nine points, six rebounds, and three steals, before fouling out.
Webster is 10-3 in the SLIAC and 15-7 overall. The Gorloks return home to face Principia College (IL) on February 16, and Spalding University (KY) on February 20, to wrap up their regular season home schedule.
