The Webster University women's basketball team turns its attention to the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament after losing, 80-57, at Fontbonne University on February 23. Junior
Katy Meyer (Parkway Central HS, STL) provided a bright spot for the Gorloks as she scored a career high 27 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in the loss.
Meyer reached her high mark on nine for 13 shooting from the field, including five of eight from the 3-point line. Her previous high mark was set earlier this season when she scored 23 in an 88-72 win at MacMurray College (IL).
The Gorloks finish the regular season 17-8 overall. Webster finished at 12-4 in the SLIIAC, good for second place. The Gorloks will face Blackburn College (IL) in the first round of the conference tournament on February 26 at 6 pm at Fontbonne University.
The winner of that contest will advance to the championship game at 7 pm on February 27 at Fontbonne. At stake is an automatic berth in the NCAA III Championship Tournament for the SLIAC tournament champ.
