The Webster University women's tennis team defeated Blackburn College, 8-1, at Carlinville, IL, on April 6.  Lindsey Hays (FR, Francis Howell HS, STL) and Allison Tungate (SO, Flora HS, IL) raised their season singles records to 9-1 with wins in the match.  The Gorloks then travelled to Washington University on April 7, losing to the Bears, 7-1.

Hays, playing in the #1 singles position for the first time this season, won in straight sets vs. Blackburn, 6-1, 6-1.  Tungate, playing the #2 singles, won 6-1, 6-2, in straight sets.  Abbey Eccher (FR, Belleville West HS, IL) playing her second singles match of the season, picked up her first win in a tie-breaker, 6-4, 4-6, (10-6).

Against Washington University, 14th-ranked nationally in the NCAA III, Paige Tungate (SO, Flora HS, IL) was the lone winner for Webster, raising her season singles record to 7-2.  Webster is 7-4 on the season and 5-0 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.  The match vs. Blackburn was a non-conference one.  The Gorloks travel to Eureka College (IL) on April 8, completing their SLIAC regular season schedule.
