Women’s Tennis Fall Short To Western Connecticut In Florida

ORLANDO, Flor. - The Webster University women's tennis team continued spring break play with a match against Western Connecticut State University. The Gorloks won both doubles and one singles match but dropped the match to the Wolves by the score of 2-5.

In the number one doubles match, the duo of Maggie McBratney and Abby Cristea got out to an early lead and paced to a 6-3 victory.

In the number two doubles match, the team of Doreen Eyongeta and Maria Pinilla Pena allowed only two points and won the match by the score of 6-2.

In the number one singles match, McBratney dominated her opponent to an 8-2 victory.

In the number two singles match, Cristea captured five points but fell by the score of 5-8.

In the number three singles match, Eyongeta battled her opponent point-for-point to a tie at 7-7 that forced a tiebreaker. In the tiebreaker, Eyongeta fell by the score of 2-8.

In the number four singles match, Pinilla Pena fought hard and battled closely with her opponent but dropped the match by the score of 6-8.

The Wolves won the number five and six singles matches by forfeits.
