McBratney Secures Singles Win In Defeat To MUW

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Webster University women's tennis team hosted the Owls of Mississippi University for Women for a conference match. The Gorloks fell to the Owls by the score of 1-6 as Maggie McBratney won her singles match.

In the number one doubles match, McBratney and Abby Cristea battled and won five points but dropped the match by the score of 5-7.

In the number two doubles match, the team of Doreen Eyongeta and Maria Pinilla Pena fell by the score of 0-6.

In the number three doubles match, the Owls won the match by default

In the number one singles match, McBratney dropped the opening set by the score of 4-6 but responded in the second set with a 6-4 victory that forced a third set. In the third set, McBratney secured six points but dropped the match by the score of 6-10.

In the number two singles match, Cristea won seven points but fell by the scores of 3-6 and 4-6.

In the number three singles match, Eyongeta secured two points but dropped the match by the score of 0-6 and 2-6.

In the number four singles match, Pinilla Pena fought hard but fell by the identical scores of 0-6 and 0-6.

In the number five and six singles match, the Owls won those matches by default.
