The Webster University women's cross country team won its first St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship in the program's history.  In 18 previous years of having a team score in the championships, Webster's highest finish was second in 2010, and in a tie for second in 2000.  The Webster men, battling illnesses, finished sixth in its race.

For guiding the Gorloks to their first championship, coach Dusty Lopez was named the 2011 SLIAC Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year.  Julie Greenough (SO, Lutie HS, MO) once again paced the women, finishing fourth in the race at 24:27.  Her finish tied for Webster's highest in the SLIAC Championships.  Jennifer Grider finished fourth also for Webster in the 1999 race.

The Gorloks had the #s 4, 6, 7, and 8 finishers in the race, nosing out Principia College (IL).  Webster butted heads throughout the fall in various meets with the Panthers, typically finishing just behind them, but not with the Championship on the line.  Heather Heisse (SO, Buchanan HS, MO), Jane McKibben (JR, Lindbergh HS), and Eroica Stackhouse (SO, Tipton HS, IN) were paced almost perfectly, finishing just three seconds apart in the sixth through eighth spots.

For their efforts, Greenough, Heisse, and McKibben earned 2011 SLIAC First-Team, All-Conference honors.  For the second straight year, Stackhouse earned SLIAC Second Team, All-Conference honors.  Heisse was also named to the 2011 SLIAC Cross-Country All-Sportsmanship Team.

The men stumbled a bit, compared to times and finishes for their races during the season.  Dan Henkey (JR, Affton HS) finished 22rd in the race at 27:48.  Jason Hickson (FR, Hillsboro HS, MO) was just seven seconds behind in 23rd at 27:55.  Tony Morales (SR, Parkway West HS) was named to the 2011 SLIAC Cross-Country All-Sportsmanship Team.
