Box Score The last St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference basketball game the Webster University women's basketball played, they cut down the nets at Westminster College in March as the SLIAC Tournament Champions. The Blue Jays quickly erased that memory as they served notice they are the team to reckon with again this season, defeating the Gorloks at Grant Gymnasium, 59-45, on November 30.
Webster tied the game at 38-38 with 10:00 remaining, after trailing 30-21 at halftime. Several costly turnovers down the stretch killed any momentum the Gorloks had as the Blue Jays outscored Webster, 21-7, from that point on. The Gorloks, so proficient last year from the three-point line with 2011 graduate Katy Meyer leading the way, have yet to find their touch this season. A one for eight performance vs. Westminster dropped the team percentage to .177 from beyond the arc.
Freshman Cassie Endicott (Civic Memorial HS, IL) led Webster with 12 points, as she was five for five from the field, and grabbed nine rebounds. Endicott also had three blocked shots. Megan Willett (SR, Parkway West HS) chipped in with 11 points and pulled down seven rebounds.
Webster is back home on December 3 vs. Elmhurst College (IL) before taking a week off and heading to Holly Springs, MS, for a game vs. Rust College on December 10.
