As President Ronald Reagan said, 'Mr. Gorbachev, bring those fans down...to Fulton, MO." Maybe those weren't his exact words, but if the late President knew the Webster University women's basketball team was playing in the SLIAC Tournament on February 24 at Westminster College, he might have said it.
Webster will be playing Fontbonne University at 6:00 p.m. and after the teams' first two meetings this season, the excitement is building. On January 8, the Gorloks downed the Griffins, 47-45, on a basket by Megan Willett (JR, Parkway West HS) with :10 remaining in the game. Fontbonne returned the 'favor' on February 22, beating Webster, 57-56, on a free throw with :00.9 left in the contest.
Fans can make the trip an educational experience as well by visiting the National Churchill Museum, located on Westminster's campus. They can also see a section of the Berlin Wall, where Mr. Reagan gave a slightly different version of his actual speech at it's original location in Germany.
Webster students will be admitted free with a University ID. For all others, admission is $5 for adults, $2 for students with a school ID, and $2 for children ages 5-16. There is no charge for children under five years of age.
