The women's tennis team started a two-day road trip to Central Illinois and Chicago successfully as Webster downed Millikin University, 8-1, in Decatur, on September 23. The team swept the doubles, 3-0, to open the match, then took singles handily, 5-1.
Paige Tungate (SR, Flora HS, IL), Lindsey Hays (JR, Francis Howell HS), and Marissa Lewis (FR, Oswasso HS, OK) were all victorious in doubles and singles. Also winning at singles were Kathleen Kennedy (FR, Providence Catholic HS, IL) and MacKenzie Wilder (FR, Weatherford HS, TX).
Isabella Espinoza (FR, Temecula Valley HS, CA), Lauren Hacker (FR, Corona del Sol HS, AZ), and Allison Tungate (SR, Flora HS, IL) also won in doubles. While Tungate suffered the only setback for the Gorloks, at the #1 singles spot, she had a hard-fought match, losing 6-7 (6-8), 6-3, 7-10.
The Gorloks finish up the trip by heading into the Chicago-area to play Elmhurst College and St. Joseph's College (IN) on September 24.
