Gorloks Blow By Blue & Gold, 92-58

Box Score The Webster University men's basketball team won its third straight game, all in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play, in a 92-58 victory at Principia College (IL) on January 19.  Webster improves to 5-3 in the SLIAC and remains tied for fourth place in the conference.

Four Gorloks scored in double figures as Webster shot 52% (37-71) from the field, including 10-24 (43%) from the three-point line.  Webster built up a 52-25 halftime lead and coasted to victory in the second half.  Ahmad Smith (SO, Clayton HS, MO) and Dietrick Sooter (SR, Pierce City HS, MO) both led Webster with 18 points.  Sooter put up his total in just 11 minutes on the floor, coming off the bench for Webster.  He was 7-10 from the field overall, and 4-6 beyond the arc.

Webster doubled up the Blue and Gold on the boards, outrebounding Principia, 52-26.  Jarrod Huskey (JR, Hillsboro HS, MO) had a career-high 17 rebounds to lead the Gorloks.  Roman Robinson (SR, Angelo Rodriguez HS, CA) hit a double double, scoring 16 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in the win.  Robinson led the Gorloks with three steals.  Cody Bradfisch (SR, Jerseyville HS, IL) was the other Gorlok to top double figures in points, finishing with 16 on the afternoon.

The 34 point win margin was Webster's highest ever at Principia.  The Gorloks have won 20 straight vs. the Blue & Gold, dating back to 2003.

The Gorloks are 7-9 overall with the win.  Webster travels to Jacksonville, IL, on January 23, to take on MacMurray College.  The Gorloks are at Grant Gym for the first of five straight home games on January 26, as they take on Eureka College (IL).
