Box Score The Webster University men's basketball team opened its season with an 85-55 home win over Calumet College of St. Joseph (Ind.) in the Cavallo Tipoff Classic. This is Webster's first season-opening win since 2010.

 

Four players scored in double figures for Webster, led by Ahmad Smith (St. Louis, Mo. / Clayton) with 15 points. He was joined by Kevin Miller (Belleville, Ill. / Belleville East) with 12 points, Adam Etter (Albers, Ill. / Mater Dei) with 11, and Hollis Edwards (Nashville, Tenn. / McGavock) with 11.

 

Smith is the team's leading returning scorer with 14.6 points per game last season when he made the all-conference second team.

 

Webster concludes the Cavallo event with a 3 p.m. game Sunday (Nov. 17) against Rust (Miss.).
