Women's Basketball Takes Fourth Straight, 64-46

Box Score Employing a suffocating defense, the Webster University women's basketball team grounded out a 64-46 victory over visiting MacMurray College (IL) on February 8. The Gorlok pressure forced the Highlanders into 13 turnovers in the first 13 minutes of the contest as Webster grabbed a 38-23 halftime lead en route to the win.

The win was Webster's fourth in a row and fourth straight in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference as it improved to 9-3 in the league.

Center Cassie Endicott (JR, Bethalto, IL/Civic Memorial HS) had a double double on the afternoon, scoring points and pulling down 12 rebounds.  Courtney Pursley (SR, Lonedell, MO/St. Clair HS) just missed out on a double double of her own, scoring 12 points and grabbing nine rebounds.

Guard Kaliann Rikard (SR, Cuba, MO/Cuba HS) had 10 points and a team-high six assists, with all six coming in the first half.
Ashley Brooks (SO, Hermann, MO/Hermann HS) got a start at guard and had seven points, five rebounds, and three steals

Twelve Gorloks saw playing time in the game with 10 landing in the scoring column.  Webster handily won the battle of the boards, out rebounding the Highlanders, 49-26. 

The contest included a halftime exhibition featuring the St. Louis Falcons, a Special Olympics basketball team that sparked a rousing reception from the large crowdup of Gorlok supporters on hand.

Webster is 12-7 overall on the season.   The Gorloks host Iowa Wesleyan on February 10, making up a contest postponed on February 1 because of weather.   Webster will travel to Greenville College (IL) on February 12.
