The Webster University women's tennis team lost at Westminster College, 5-4, on April 16 in Fulton, MO. Down 2-1 after doubles, the Gorloks won the top three singles spots, but couldn't win a fourth needed to take the match.
Marissa Lewis (JR, Owasso, OK/Owasso HS) and Kaylen Kress (SO, Bartlett, IL/Bartlett HS) won 8-3 at #1 doubles for the Gorloks. Lewis and Kress, at #s 1-2, won in straight sets in singles, along with Isabella Espinoza (JR, Temecula, CA/Temecula Valley HS) at #3. For Lewis, it was her eighth straight singles win in a row.
Webster finishes 2-3 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and has a match vs. Fontbonne University on April 21 at the Webster Groves Tennis Center before the SLIAC Tournament on April 25-26.
